RV Gear Scout publishes research-based buying guides designed to make RV and camping equipment easier to compare.
Our selection process
- Define the job. We start with the campsite problem a product should solve and the constraints that matter.
- Check primary information. We review manufacturer specifications, manuals, warranty details, certifications, and compatibility guidance.
- Compare the field. We assess features, setup, portability, expected durability, owner-reported patterns, and value.
- Explain the tradeoffs. We identify who each pick is best for, who should skip it, and what must be verified before purchase.
- Revisit the guide. We update articles when models, availability, or important product information changes.
Testing and accuracy
We clearly distinguish research from hands-on testing and never imply that a product was personally tested when it was not. Specifications are checked against available primary sources, but readers should confirm current fitment, ratings, and instructions with the manufacturer.
Affiliate independence
Affiliate commissions support the site, but they do not purchase favorable coverage. We do not accept payment for a guaranteed ranking. When affiliate links appear, we disclose them clearly.
Corrections
If a material error is identified, we correct the article and review related recommendations. Publication and update dates help readers judge how current a guide is.
